Who is behind this

This page is about people, not an organisation. Here is who we are, why we do this, how we work, and why there is no legal entity.

Who we are

There is no company behind these tools. Trust Dev is a guild.

A guild, because that is the older answer to our own question. Long before registries and notaries, craftsmen vouched for each other, held each other to a standard, and a name was collateral.

We are not registered anywhere, and we do not plan to be. That is a choice, and it fits how the tools work. Our platforms are witnesses, not guarantors: they record what people agreed and what they did, and never become a party to the agreement. A witness does not need legal personhood for the record to hold — the timestamps and the signatures do that. The parties answer for their deals. We answer for the tools: that they run, that the record is accurate, that nothing gets quietly sold on.

We are a small group of people who design, build and run two tools: Porukam, for deals between individuals, and Vidno, for turning shared problems into decisions.

Why we do this

Most of us have at some point agreed something with a person we barely knew, and found afterwards that nothing had been written down. Either the matter was too small for a lawyer, or the other side was too far away to ask. It usually ended the same way: a shrug, a lost sum, and a decision not to try again.

That is the reason. We want the next such agreement to leave a record that both sides can point to, at no cost to either of them. We would like trust between strangers to be something people can check rather than something they have to risk.

How we work

We pay for this with our own money. There are no investors, and so nobody to whom we owe growth figures.

Our plans are open. What we are building, what works and what does not yet is written down on the project pages.

We do not give deadlines that nobody can guarantee. When something is ready, we say so. Until then, we say what is in progress.

What people come to us with

  • Pilots. A community, a building or a small group of tradespeople that wants to try Porukam or Vidno on a real case.
  • Partnerships. Organisations whose work depends on agreements between strangers and who want to build on the same principles.
  • Developers. People who want to contribute, review or build next to us.

Write to the address on the contact page. We usually answer within a couple of days.
